Acid phosphatase (ACP) has 20 isoenzymes. The clinically determined isozymes are roughly two types. One is prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP), which is the most active acid phosphatase isoenzyme in the body. One class is non-prostatic acid phosphatase. There are many methods for measuring prostatic acid phosphatase, such as chemical method, radioimmunoassay, immunoprecipitation, convection immunoelectrophoresis, and electrophoresis. Non-prostatic acid phosphatase is generally still chemically used.

Clinical significance

1. ACP2 elevation is seen in chronic myelogenous leukemia and prostate disease.

2, ACP3 elevated in lymphocytic leukemia, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytopenia (caused by increased platelet destruction).

3. ACP3b elevation is seen in acute and chronic granulocyte leukemia.

4. ACP4 elevation is seen in monocytic leukemia.

5, ACP5 elevated in giant cell leukemia, hemolytic anemia, giant cell anemia, sickle cell anemia, hyperthyroidism.
