Effusion 2-microglobulin

β2-MG is a beta light chain of human leukocyte antigen (HIA) molecules. Nearly all nucleated cells (except red blood cells and placental trophoblast cells) can synthesize β2-MG and attach to the cell surface. The daily production of the same individual remains constant and is secreted in various body fluids. The main function is to participate in lymphoid cells. Cell surface recognition and killer cell receptors are involved.

Basic Information

Specialist classification: Oncology examination classification: chest and ascites examination

Applicable gender: whether men and women apply fasting: fasting

Tips: It is advisable to use an empty stomach before the examination. Normal value

Adult 1.15 ± 3.7 mg / L.

Clinical significance

Abnormal result

In pleural effusion caused by rheumatism and lymphoma, the content is also increased, especially in the latter. The content of β2-microglobulin in malignant tumors and systemic lupus erythematosus is significantly lower than that of tuberculosis, rheumatism and lymphoma.

High results may be diseases: pleural effusion, rheumatism, tuberculosis, malignant tumors

Before the inspection: It is advisable to use an empty stomach.

At the time of inspection: immediately after the specimen is collected, the specimen should be properly added with an alkaline buffer to prevent decomposition of β2-MG.

Inspection process

Immediately after taking the effusion specimen, the test method is as follows:

Microparticle Enzyme Immunoassay (MEIA), which forms an M-Ab-Ag complex with anti-β2-M coated microparticles (M-Ab) and β2-M in the specimen, when the complex is transferred to the fiber cup, The microparticles are irreversibly bound to the glass fibers on the surface of the fiber cup and combined with the added alkaline phosphatase-labeled anti-β2-M to wash away the unbound free material and add the substrate, tetramethylumbelliferone phosphate. The salt, alkaline phosphatase defluorinates the phosphate group of the substrate to fluoresce, and the quantitative result is obtained by MEIA optical path element detection.

Not suitable for the crowd

Not suitable for people: people who need to be tested have fever, joint pain, muscle pain and so on. Those without examination indications should not be tested.

Adverse reactions and risks

1. Infection: Pay attention to aseptic operation when puncture, pay attention to local cleaning after puncture, prevent water pollution and avoid infection.

2, bleeding: puncture needle damage to local blood vessels or tissue caused by local bleeding, should try to avoid puncture too deep.
